Welcome to KIHON.com

The Bujinkan New York Dojo (BNYD) founded this site in 1999 as a way of sharing our passion for the martial arts called Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. More commonly known as ninjutsu, the name change was a way to place emphasis on the fact that our arts are both SAMURAI and NINJA based (rather than just the latter).

Before founding this site, we offered information through our "original site" beginning on June 1996. The site was called "mu-sha-shin" (Warrior heart) and could be found at "www.geocities.com/bnyd". Geocites.com ceased in October of 2009 because the owners decommissioned their hosting services.

In 1998, the four senior members of the BNYD, agreed that having our own site, becoming one of the first Bujinkan web sites on the Internet would be a good idea. Together we chose, KIHON (Japanese for "foundation" or "basics") as our web site name because it was a good place to start (a good foundation). And because, the one thing we all wholeheartedly agreed on was that a good foundation is very important in our training.

Shortly thereafter, we began placing articles, newsletter and videos up on the 'Net in hopes of sharing our passions with the world.

In brief, that brings us to today (January 10, 2010). We have redesigned this site about eight different ways... which in Japanese is pronounced "Happo." So, here you have it the Kihon Happo!

True victory relies not upon you, but on your enemy. Thus, victory comes naturally to you. You have only to wait for it to happen. Do not search for victory or seek gain, allow it to happen naturally.
