Masaaki Hatsumi, Soke (Grandmaster)
Masaaki Hatsumi is the inheritor of nine Japanese martial arts traditions from his teacher, Takamatsu Sensei (1889-1972). Hatsumi Sensei created the Bujinkan after his teacher died in order to preserve and continue the lessons he inherited. He has written numerous books, appeared internationally on television, consulted on various films and even offers training through a wide variety of Videos and DVDS. Through his budo teachings he has earned countless awards from government agencies and military forces.

Joe Maurantonio, Shihan (NY Senior Instructor)
Joe Maurantonio began his martial arts career over 27 years ago in New York. In 1983, he began studying the Bujinkan martial arts through instructors Darryl Caldwell and Stephen K. Hayes. He met Hatsumi Soke in 1986 and was awarded his Shidoshi (instructors) license in 1991 after passing the godan shinsa. He continues to train with Hatsumi Soke and other Shihan each year. During the past 20 years he has trained and offered seminars all over the USA, Canada, England, Italy and Japan. The Bujinkan New York Dojo is one of the oldest, most well established dojo in New York State. Members of the Bujinkan New York Dojo include black belts and several shidoshi. He has written for several martial arts magazines and newsletters. One of his most significant works was translating, editing and publishing NINPO: Wisdom for Life, by Masaaki Hatsumi.

Brian Tritico, Shidoshi (Houston, TX)
Brian Tritico began his martial arts training in 1989 and was awarded his shidoshi license from Hatsumi Soke while in Japan during 2000. He became a private student of Joe Maurantonio in 1996(7) and received instructor lessons and mentoring. He is the head instructor at the Bujinkan Bellaire Dojo and travels annually to Japan for training with Hatsumi Soke and other Japan-based Shihan.

Glenn Catania, Shidoshi (Long Island, NY)
Glenn Catania began his Bujinkan training as a student of Joe Maurantonio in 1985. He first met Hatsumi Soke in 1991 and received his Shidoshi license in 2003 at the last USA Tai Kai. He has written several articles for internet newsletters. He was a member of the SK Hayes' Shadows Of Iga organization for many years. At this time he does not teach regular classes. He is the most senior student and close friend of Joe Maurantonio.

Fred Feddeck, Shidoshi (Scarsdale, NY)
Fred F. Feddeck began his Bujinkan training at the Bujinkan New York Dojo (Bronxville) in 1993 a few weeks after they opened at that new location. He first met Hatsumi Soke in 1997 and was awarded his Shidoshi license in 2003. He has written numerous articles that have been translated into various languages for international newsletters and websites. He teaches regularly at the Bujinkan New York Dojo.

Don Houle, Shidoshi (Newton, NJ)
Don Houle began his Bujinkan training in 1986 with Tim Dean (shidoshi) and continued training after relocating to New Jersey in 1994 at the Bujinkan New York Dojo. Don has trained in Japan and at many USA Tai Kai events. In 2003, Don was honored to take and pass the godan shinsha (5th degree black belt test). April 2004 saw the founding of the Bujinkan Happo Dojo. Don continues his studies with Hatsumi sensei, Joe Maurantonio shihan at the BNYD and by taking advantage of the many training opportunities provided by other senior Bujinkan instructors.
